This Region has collected an extensive heritage, a series of ancient monasteries, basilicas designed and decorated by the greatest artists of the time, and places of worship. Travelling on our cooking holidays in Umbria, you will be accompanied by a guide who was born and lives here, and see the fantastic cities of the region, which are real medieval jewels. In the genuine cooking classes in Umbria held by cooks of the delicious farmhouse that will host us, we will discover the secrets of traditional Umbra cooking. We will participate in a course run by the Chocolate School of Perugia. We will accompany a truffle finder and his dog in their passionate Truffle hunting, in search of these precious tasty gems offered by the earth.

One day in our cooking holidays in Umbria will be dedicated to chocolate school, a unique place where those with a sweet tooth and who are passionate about chocolate will have an unforgettable experience. This is not a tourist attraction but a “real” chocolate school where the chocolate chefs will show us the secrets of the techniques of chocolate making used to create little artistic works of chocolate goodness. After the course, you can put into practice everything you have learnt and recreate all of the chocolate recipes using the simple cooking utensils you have at home. At the end of each course, each participant will receive a certificate of participation, the apron of the Chocolate School and naturally… the delicious chocolate creations he or she has made during the course!

Day 1 (Saturday)
Pick up from the International Raffaello Sanzio Airport of Ancona, and transport to our holiday farm in the hills of Gubbio.
Relax, discovery of the land.
In the afternoon cooking class.
The lesson includes the preparation of a typical Umbrian dishes.
The lesson ends with tasting the dishes, paired with great wines.
Day 2 (Sunday)
Guided visit of Assisi and of S.Maria of the Angels.
A journey to the heart of Christianity in this city known in all the world for its historical and religious importance, as the destination for millions of pilgrims.
In the afternoon, a cooking lesson on “The growth on Panaro”.
Our host, Maurizio, on the strength of a family tradition passed down for centuries, will teach us how to prepare the famous “Crescia di Gubbio” and the inimitable Chicken in Friccò or other local specialities.
Day 3 (Monday)
We will transfer to the “Regional Park of Mount Cucco” in order to accompany a truffle hunter and his dogs on a Truffle Hunting expedition. The precious Tuber, that has embellished our disse for millennia, will be the exclusive protagonist.
We will spend a day in the heart of the Park of Mount Cucco, exploring its uncontaminated nature and following an expert truffle hunter and his dog in the discovery of the art and traditions of truffle hunting, tasting the distinctive tastes and smells of truffles. A cultural and sensual experience that you cannot miss.

In the afternoon we will visit Gubbio, the best preserved medieval city in the world, a place rich in history, mysticism and centuries of tradition. Unforgettable moments in the passage of the historic buildings, world-famous artisan workshops and breathtaking views in this city, loved also by important historical and religious figures.
Day 4 (Tuesday)
We will visit the historical “Fabbrica Perugina” or Perugian Factory and the chocolate museum, in which you can discover how the history of the this large Italian industry is tied to the traditions and the destiny of Umbria and of Italy in general. A unique journey of discovery into the Culture of Chocolate, from the plant to the final product, a unique place where all those with a sweet tooth and passionate about chocolate will have an unforgettable experience.
At the Chocolate School of Perugia we will attend a chocolate making course with the best chocolate chefs in the world who will show you the secrets to preparing this extraordinary product. Afterwards, you can take away the delicious result of your efforts!
In the afternoon guided tour of Spello
Day 5 (Wednesday)
The morning will be dedicated to a visit to the cellars of a producer of excellent local wine and tastings of the best wine in Umbria.
Lunch will be a local specialty prepared by Chef Marcella, author of the book “The Recipes of Grandma Marcella”.
All in the picturesque setting of the “Tower of the Pine”, a building dating back to 1200, surrounded by green Umbrian hills.
In the afternoon we will embark on a guided tour of the centre of Perugia with free time for shopping.
Day 6 (Thursday)
Cooking lesson on “The secrets of Homemade pasta and the best sauces”
How to prepare the perfect pastry for tagliatelle or ravioli, beginning first with the choice of ingredients and materials and ending with the composition and preparation of the sauce, a base of mushrooms from our forests and of game. The expert hands of the cooks of our farmhouse will guide you in a journey of taste and tradition.
Day 7 (Friday)
Transfer to the airport Raffaello Sanzio of Ancona or to the railway station of Perugia.
