Italian cuisine varies greatly from region to region – even between places located just a few kilometres apart. Our cooking holidays in Le Marche offer you the chance to experience the unique tastes and smells of the local Italian cuisine and products of Le Marche. While cooking in Le Marche, you will work with very fresh local products of the highest quality provided by biodynamic kitchen garden productions and by Civitanova’s fishermen.
You will be taking cooking classes in Le Marche under the supervision of our experienced Le Marche chef Rodrigo, who enjoys working with the flavours of the noble gastronomic traditions.
Take a cooking holiday in Le Marche if you want to experience ‘real’ Italy, untainted by mass tourism. ‘Le Marche’ means ‘The Marches’ in English, and is an undiscovered inland mountain country located in central Italy adjacent to Tuscany and Umbria. Macerata is the capital city of Le Marche Region and is surrounded by a panorama of hills and medieval walls.
In between your cooking classes in Le Marche you can browse the Renaissance art and architecture, venture into the mountains, check out the Mediterranean fishing port, attend the annual Macerata Opera Festival, visit some of Italy’s most beautiful beaches, shop in trendy Italian factory outlet stores, sample some of the best Italian wines and delicious Italian food. Sea, mountains, history, art, local traditions, spirituality, nature, typical food and wine – in Le Marche you will discover the best features of the Italian culture and way of life.
The Macerata Opera Festival is very traditionally Italian open-air festival held in the Arena Sferisterio, which is a neoclassical arena constructed in the 1820s for a medieval ball sport game, which dates back to the 15th century. The festival offers consistently high quality performances by local artists with excellent sightlines and acoustics.
Thus, if you are not only a fan of Italian cooking but also of medieval architecture, authentic opera, ballet and beautiful natural landscapes, our cooking holidays in Le Marche are for you.
